Who are we?
AntiDoxx is an impartial non-profit organisation committed to ending the publication and sharing of fake news, misinformation, disinformation, doxxing, false or misleading claims. We also seek to support victims to help recover their reputations and rebuild their lives.
What problem are we trying to solve?
Widespread misinformation, disinformation and doxxing are undermining society. People believe what they see online and in the media even if it is not true. This compromises our ability to make rational decisions on matters which concern us, both in our personal lives and in wider society.
Doxxing is where personal information about an individual is disclosed without their consent, often with malicious intentions, and is typically shared online. This information can include allegations, home addresses, phone numbers, and other identifying details.
Doxxing poses significant risks and potential physical harm to the victim, particularly where the victim has been set up, (known as catfishing) and it contains accusations of socially unacceptable behaviour which have not been proven in law.
Misinformation and Doxxing destroys lives, tears apart families, damages reputations, wrecks relationships and leaves lives in tatters. It has even driven people to take their own lives even where they are not guilty of any crime.
What are we trying to do?
We raise money to provide support to victims of misinformation to remove it from online sources, clean up their reputation and rebuild their lives.
We campaign for changes to end the publication and sharing of fake news, misinformation, disinformation, doxxing, false or misleading claims.
How do we achieve this?
We campaign for and raise funds:
- for stronger laws regarding the publishing of private or identifying information about an individual without consent.
- to outlaw publication of allegations and/or identifying information before criminal charges and sentencing by a court of law.
- to make the deliberate sharing of misinformation, disinformation and doxxing by anyone a criminal offence.
- to help victims recover from reputational damage and provide emergency safe spaces for their protection.
- for the right to be innocent until proven guilty and the right to be forgotten to be enforced promptly without delays.
- for changes to legislation to outlaw unfair barriers and to expedite the removal of private information from online sources.
- for independent fact checking in the media to eliminate sharing of fake news, false claims or misleading information.
What difference will it make?
Outlawing fake news, misinformation and doxxing will allow everyone to make informed decisions on matters which concern us.
Outlawing misinformation shared online can prevent serious real-world problems, such as influencing the way people vote or causing riots.
The publication of personal information or allegations before court sentencing can jeopardise the outcome of a case. Making this a criminal offence will protect public funds, ensure individuals remain innocent until proven guilty and result in more successful prosecutions.
Changing assumptions of "guilty until proven innocent" because it was online or in the media will restore the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" to society. This simple change in attitudes will have huge repurcussions which protects the rights and safety of everyone.
Criminalising Doxxing, anonymous allegations and the publishing of personal information will literally save lives.
Providing support to help victims clean up their reputations and in some cases to relocate will allow them to rebuild their lives.
