Yes To Prostate Checks seeks to make prostate checks routine as part of an NHS national screening programme.
Yes To Prostate Checks seeks to have routine screening for all men to reduce male deaths from Prostate Cancer.
Who are we?
Yes To Prostate Checks is a non-profit campaign committed to preventing and reducing male deaths from prostate cancer. We campaign for routine screening for men in the same way routine smear tests for cervical cancer screening works for women.
What problem are we trying to solve?
At the moment men have to ask their GP for a blood test to check their prostate and most will not bother. We campaign to make prostate checks part of a routine screening programme on the NHS.
What are we trying to do?
We seek to make prostate checks routine for men as part of a national screening programme on the NHS. Saving lives should not be about money when preventative screening is cost effective and cheaper than more expensive cancer treatments.
Prostate cancer is the biggest killer in men but can be treated if caught early enough.
This simple change will literally save lives. Prostate cancer in men can be treated if caught early enough.
How do we achieve this?
We campaign for and raise funds:
- to lobby for changes in NHS practices regarding Prostate Cancer prevention.
- for the changes needed to ensure routine male prostate screening.
- for changes to legislation to ensure preventative prostate checks become routine .
- for awareness and education amongst men about the importance of regular prostate checks.
What difference will it make?
This will literally save lives. Prostate cancer is the biggest killer in men. Awareness raising and regular checks as part of a national screening programme will help reduce the number of deaths from Prostate Cancer.
